Realizing the need for a unified professional Squirrel resource, The National Squirrel Rehabilitation Association has been created.

This organization has been established from an experience and knowledge based collective of squirrel specific rehabilitation encompassing over 15 years. This include hands on active rehab of all indigenous tree and ground squirrels, participation and contributions to continuing education both State and National level, published peer-reviewed squirrel rehabilitation papers, and knowledge of the newest  products and their practical applications to squirrel rehabilitation.

We strive to broaden the ever growing knowledge base of Squirrel Wildlife Rehabilitation and to promote professionalism in that field. We expect that our efforts will establish ourselves as a role model for squirrel rehabilitation protocol within the Wildlife Rehabilitation community on a National and International level and further hope that our work will also serve as an educational tool for those who simply want to know more about these incredible mammals.

     Our Focus:

• To advise the proper protocol of squirrel rehabilitation that will encompass correct diet, commercial milk replacement choices, husbandry, treatment and therapies for common and uncommon disease and conditions, neonatal-juvenile-adult stages ; their differences and commonalities ,the use of the newest products and their applications.
• To differentiate between the different stages of development and the impact of their rehabilitation
• To promote the exchange of knowledge and resources among wildlife rehabilitators, related government agencies, community organizations, veterinarians and the community at-large.
• To cultivate an understanding and respect for squirrels, natural
  habitat and ecosystems  and to reduce humans' negative impact on wildlife through education
• To educate by offering seminars and workshops that encompass all aspects of squirrel rehabilitation.
