The fleas on the pet are in the adult stage. An adult female flea, living on a pet, can lay up to 2,000 eggs in her lifetime. With CAPSTAR (nitenpyram), almost all adult fleas will die within 4 hours for dogs. Please note: CAPSTAR is an excellent product for using on wildlife for maggot infestation. Can be used topically and orally. How CAPSTAR Works: CAPSTAR starts working in just 30 minutes. A single dose of CAPSTAR should kill the adult fleas on the pet. If the pet gets re-infested with fleas, you can safely give another dose as often as one dose per day. No Cleaning: some liquid-drop flea control products can leave pesticide residues that can rub off onto carpets, furniture and bedding - Not CAPSTAR. CAPSTAR tablets leave no pesticide residue in your home or on the pet. Safe: CAPSTAR is remarkably safe. Safe for puppies 4 weeks of age and older, weighing 2 pounds or greater. Also, safe for pregnant or nursing dogs. Effective: In studies, over 90% of fleas die within 4 hours for dogs after being treated with CAPSTAR tablets. How to Use: A single dose of CAPSTAR (nitenpyram) should kill the adult fleas on the pet. If the pet gets reinfested with fleas, you can safely give another dose as often as one dose per day. To administer CAPSTAR tablets, place the pill directly in the pet’s mouth, or hide in the pets food. If you choose to hide the tablet in the pets food, watch closely to make sure the pet swallows the pill. If you are not sure that the pet swallowed the pill, it is safe to administer a second pill.
